Instagram Week #2

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

Last day of work on campus. My bosses were lovely and gave us all a Timmies card. On to real life!
My morning Aloe drink. The original Aloe flavor is the best. I like to nom on the rubbery aloe bits
Tetley's entire "Color Therapy" line is stellar but the best has got to be Roobios Vanilla. Try. it. Now.

Nick came over last week and we had Game of Thrones night with a mini stash of junk food. I hogged the sour keys and the Crispy Minis
My Hello Kitty laundry basket stares woefully at me as I pack at the end of my Uni career. Look at that sad ear quirk

| Corn bread from the Bean Bar in Westdale. Fantastic little to-go snack. It comes with honey too! |
Visited some people at work while Rio played on the wall.  Jesse Eisenberg's voice is adorable
Fairly organized at the beginning of my packing, lost patience half way and threw everything in garbage bags

My last August 8 dinner in Hamilton for a very long time
Sushi, Sashimi and the quintessential bacon wrapped in asparagus
The Lover's Sushi was surprisingly delicious. My favorite part is the chip. At the end, I just scrapped off the fishy bits and ate the chips

Saw Titanic 3D on Saturday with my parents. Still adamant that they could have both survived
Went to Congee Dynasty for dinner. God, I've missed that place. Their porridge just melts in your mouth

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

Got a free movie ticket for doing a survey after Titanic. Saving this for The Dark Knight Rises
Sunday in downtown Toronto with Nick. Poor boy didn't have breakfast so we went to the Oppressive McDonalds in the basement of Eaton's for some hash browns
Brunch at Brassai. Their omelette is amazing, their spinach was very fresh. Even their bread tastes better. What magic is this?

Everyday makeup organization

Fact: I love organizing.

I can spend hours rearranging things and trying to find boxes to categorize and streamline my possessions. The only irony is that purchasing organization tools only amplifies the amount of things I have in the first place. -_-

The problem I've always had is finding a suitable bag for my everyday makeup. It's difficult to find something that provides adequate compartment space without looking like an over stuffed turkey. A few weeks ago, I found a Sephora Core Collection bag that has proved to be my own personal holy grail. *insert heavenly chorus*

Overview

As you can see, I have a fair amount. I don't slather all of these on simultaneously but out of everything I own, these are the products that I repurchase and use on a frequent basis. In the case of my Mac Blushcremes, they've been discontinued so I've been requesting them as Ebay presents and hoarding them like a pack rat.

The bag itself looks like this:

As you can see, it looks deceptively small. This makes it excellent for stuffing into an overnight bag or throwing it into a carry on if you're in a hurry. The nifty thing about this bag is that there are two sides to it.

The first side holds about 5 - 12 brushes (depending on the size) while the back is lined in velcro to provided customized compartment spacing. My apologies for the bb cream splotch on mine, one of the downsides to this bag is that it stains easily and is very hard to clean.

Front Side

I don't use nearly enough brushes to fill all of these slots up so if you're like me, you can insert a mascara or some lipglosses in there. I generally keep all my favorite lip products on the right so I can see them easily. I've also incorporated a different range of colors and formulas in my stash. The Lioeli Blooming Pop you see on the right is a deep red lip stain while the Mac Cremesheen on the left is a nudey pink that provides more moisture.

If anyone's interested, I've written out a full product list at the bottom! :)

Back side

The only real problem I have with this bag is the back side. You have to flip it over to open it because it's not made in the same direction as the front side. I think they constructed it this way to provide another plastic insert in the back but honestly, I would have preferred having both sides face the same way.

Once again, I try to keep it fairly simple. On the left,  I have a Shu Uemura Eyelash curler and a Mac eye shadow in All that glitters. On the right, I've placed the velcro divider at the bottom so that my blushes have more space. Keeping with the same idea as the lip products, I have three Mac blushes that vary from a paler, nude pink (Mac's Lilicent) to a more neutral pink (Mac's Ladyblush) and a very rosy red (Posey). The smaller compartment contains my base products, which is my Skin 79 Hot Pink BB cream (amazing) and my two Benefit concealers in 01 and 02. For days when I don't wear any base, I usually mix the two together to cover any uneven areas.

The bag itself is pretty pricey. I had a Sephora Store Credit so technically, I didn't spend any of my current money. It was around $45 and I probably would not have purchased it if I didn't return something prior to this. However, I do think it's a great bag and is extremely well made and very durable. It's very hard to find a bag that provides a place to hold your brushes. If you're in the market for a better makeup bag, this one is pretty hard to beat! :)

Updated Skincare Routine

Whew, I haven't done one of these since last summer! I've swapped a few products out so I thought I would do a quick update. I'm not going to go into too much detail since I plan on doing individual reviews later :)

Keep in mind, I've stuck to this routine religiously for more than 8 months now and have repurchased all of these at one point. Whenever I deviate, I always regret it so I figure I'm on to something :p

My skin type: Combination, dry on cheeks, oily on T-zone (actually, mostly on my nose). No real acne issues, primary concerns are pink patches, dryness and the occasional zit around Time of Hormonal Angst.

If you have similar issues, this could be a good guideline. Even if you don't, I've know I've always enjoyed snooping around people's skincare products. Feel free to share in comments below ^_^

| Interview Day #2: Lunch at Bannock Toronto with the wifey |
All bran bars always have a place in my bag, the chocolate chips ones are the best

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

Job Finalizing day: Nick went downtown with me while I did my last interview. What a trooper!
Meal #1: Lunch at Ginzu in Yorkville. Benzo box + a full meal for $18!

Tuna Tar Tar at August 8 with (guess who) Nick. A creation of epic deliciousness!
Ikea for breakfast. Their breakfast choices are fairly subpar. The eggs are perpetually soggy
Tried out the Ikea Elderberry drink. It tastes like liquified gummy bears :p
