60 random things in my room: Part 3

If you would like to read the older posts, Part 1 is here and Part 2 is here. I'm having a lot of fun with this tag series. I'm also beginning to realize that my material possessions revolve around fragrances and moisturizers.

60 random things in my room: Part 3

25) Cheap $2 sunglasses - I bought this in the student center 3 years ago. I'm the kind of person that has lost (amusement parks) or broken (tripped at a bad angle) horrendously expensive sunglasses in the past. As a result, I've made a deal with myself that when I get a grown up job, I will buy myself a pair of Rayban Wayferers.

Except this time, I won't be 13 and running spastically in my neighborhood.

26) Silver heart-shaped key necklace from H&M - I love collecting H&M jewelry, they have really interesting designs sometimes. The little heart shaped area opens up. I wanted to put a little picture in it but, there's this huge bump in there that ruins the whole locket concept. It's still pretty to look at but it would be better if it came with silver wings :p

Ah.....the search for the winged heart-shaped key necklace that isn't tacky continues.

27) Peachy pink scarf from H&M - This scarf is amazingly warm and very thick. Prospective Canadian winds, you have met your match! The only downside is that if I don't arrange it properly, it likes to snuggle around my neck like a knitted cobra.

28) Giant pack of Sensodyne from Cosco - One of my front teeth is extremely sensitive so going for dental cleanings makes me look extremely constipated (that's a lovely image). I rub some extra toothpaste on the sensitive zones and this really helps over time.

My mother also bulk buys them from Costco so that's an Asian Win right there.

29) DKNY Be Delicious perfume - This was my first real fragrance! I got it (Well, not this exact one. This is a new bottle) for Christmas in 2004 and I was so excited because like most teenagers back then, I was using some musky body spray named Ocean from a neon blue bottle.

This comes in many many different versions but I personally prefer the original and the Pink Blossom. If anyone likes fresh and fruity scents, I highly recommend this!

30) Shiseido Facial Cotton wipes - I always balk at the price of this ($9) buuuut these are undefeated in quality and kitteny soft against your skin. The boy bought me my first pack during summer time and I just finished them yesterday so this one is new. They may be pricey but they last you a good 4 - 5 months, longer if you don't use them daily!

31) Eucerin's Aquaphor - This is great for everything. Dry lips, dry patches, cuticles, etc. It's a dermalogical jack of all trades.

32) Slightly tacky tissue box - I can't figure out if this is tacky or cute so I've settled on slightly tacky. I like the red because it matches the trimming on my furniture and the greenish accents makes it look slightly Christmasy. I was thinking of buying one of those limited edition Christmas Kleenex boxes but it's basically $4 for fancy cardboard.

I just couldn't do it! T_T

33) EOS lip balm - Not going to lie, I bought this because it looked really cute. My Aquaphor moisturizes my lips better but this smells incredible and tastes really good. This one is in the flavor Summer Fruit. They also come in a wide variety of flavors.
I really want to try Strawberry Sorbet next.

34) Fruits and Passions hand cream in Pear Peony - I was in Fruits & Passions a few months ago and fell in love with Pear Peony. I don't use scented body creams so I didn't think it was worth paying $30 for the body cream. I wagered with myself at the end and bought the little mini sized one. The pear screws open at the bottom to reveal a small compartment of hand cream. I keep it by my desk lamp so it's more of a decorative item now.

35) Marc Jacob's Daisy - This is the original Daisy that my mom got me on a business trip. I was completely in love with it last year. I'm more on the Chloe boat now so its been sadly neglected. It's not as fresh smelling as the DKNY. It's marketed as a youthful fragrance but I think it's actually quite musky. This also comes in a pink version, which I like a lot better. I might ask for it for Christmas.

36) Bioderma's Sensibio - This is amazing. I know I rave about it a lot but it's a great cleanser / toner / make-up remover. For a few month, I used it for my entire face and I would go through them extremely quickly (god, that was expensive). These days, I use it on my chin because it's the most sensitive area of my face. I pour a small bit onto my Shiseido cotton pad and carefully swipe it on the selected areas. I also use it to clean my make-up brushes because a tiny amount on a cotton pad removes everything. Mind you, I only use two make-up brushes on a frequent basis!

60 Random Things in my Room: Part 2

I have to say, part 1 was surprisingly (I'm pleasantly shocked, to be honest :p) popular so I've done Part 2 in between some thesis work (god help my soul).

13) Desert Essence 100% pure Jojoba Oil - I found this on the side of my desk, I use this on days where some areas of my body feel really really dry. It's super slick and absorbs very easily. I've only used it on my face once and it made me look like I fell face first into a pool of oil. These days, I use it to moisturize dry patches and sometimes around my eyes because I'm paranoid about premature wrinkles.

Now, do you pronounce it like Jahoba or Yahoba?

14) Sudocreme - Ah yes. Diaper rash cream, very glam. You open up the tub and there's this thick cream there that smells like clean babies (god, that sounds creepy). You can use this on any itchy or inflamed areas. I use it like a heal-all ointment. If you came to me with a severe gouge on your body, I would probably slap a pound of Sudocreme on it and tell you that everything is going to be okay tomorrow.

15) Fobby asian make-up bags - I got these at a place in Square One called Animal World (Yes, I am a worldly and elegant woman). They used to hold various kitchy little things but they got dirty very fast. Now they sit in the corner looking sad because I don't clean them pathologically anymore.

16) Menji Chalk - Hmmm. Why do I have chalk in my room? Oh yes, I used to have these decorative stickers in my room with writable surfaces but they kept falling down so I ended up throwing them away. I'm thinking of getting a blackboard in my room so I can actually use these one day. Knowing me, it'll just be covered with multi colored swirls and whorls as opposed to real due dates.

17) Snoopy decorative wardrobe box - One of my elementary school chums gave this to me for Christmas when I was 11. It's always followed me around because I adore everything Snoopy. I've tried putting things inside of it but the doors don't lock so things end up falling out. Nowadays, I just slap my highlighters on top of it. If I don't, they get eaten by a Black Hole and I'll have to buy new ones (again).

18) Hello Kitty Toothbrush pen - Yes, I know. This exists and I paid real money for it. It's self explanatory, really. You pull off the brush head and there's a pen underneath it. I don't use it (mainly because of shame) but it's just so cute O_O

19) Cetaphil Eczema moisturizer - When I was growing up, I used to have eczema on the bottom half of my legs. It's pretty much gone now but I'm still super careful with moisturizing that area. If I use perfumed creams, the area where the eczema patches used to be will get irritated. Cetaphil really helps. If anyone has / had eczema and needs a good moisturizer, this is the best. Seriously!

20) Moroccan Oil - I like this but I keep forgetting to use it. When I see it on my desk, I remember it and go "Oh right, I paid too much for that. I should really use it today"

21) Korres Lip Butter in Pomegranate - I love Korres. This is my holy grail lip product, will repurchase it forever. I also have the same color in a pot form but I found it unsanitary so I purchased the tube version. I sound like a huge germaphobe but honestly, I'm not that bad.
I slack on vacuuming like everyone else.

22) Bic Luminere Candle Lighter - So I've recently rekindled (ahahaHAHAHhahah. Oh, I'm precious) my love of candles. The only issue I had was that the lighter kept burning my finger tips when the candle wick drooped. This is much much easier to use.

Also, bonus: It's pink.

23) My external hard drive - My mother is an engineer so she has a million of these things lying around. This one is 250 GB, which is nothing in comparison to the TBs that are out there. I don't really have that much stuff. This one just houses my music, movie and tv collection. I really like the leather case, my mom found it at a garage sale and bought it for $1.
Asian parents are so economical!

24) Aleve Sample packs - Hmmm...it looks like I'm a bit of a pain relieve junkie. I'm not, I've only taken about 3 tylenols and two Aleve in my entire life. I had to siphon tylenol pills off The Boy when I got sick. The campus doctor gave 12 sample packs to me after he told me my muscles had seized up and taking these will help my breathing. They only worked the first time. I took one a few days ago and it made me feel nauseous. Anyway, I don't believe in taking these things but I will keep them in my room for when I really need it.

60 random things in my room

I saw this tag floating around and thought it would be fun to do. It'll be too much work to do 60 items at once so I'm going to list it as a recurring tag. As you can tell, Instagram has been my favorite iphone app for the last 5 months :p

60 random things in my room: Part 1

1) Hello Kitty laptop sleeve from a fob/hipster (fipster? :p) store on Queen Street. Purchased it during my poor months as a summer intern. Nerd Kitty makes me smile.

2) Blue tea mug purchased on sale for $3.50 at Home Sense after I broke a pink version earlier on in the week (accidentally knocked it off my table)

3) Chloe perfume purchased by my lovely mother during a China business trip. Fun fact: Every time my mom goes on business, she gets me a nice perfume. This is my favorite of the moment. The bow is adorable but the metal rusts easily!

4) Mexico seashell souvenir from my friend Lavi back when she went on vacation (or was it a wedding...hmmm). I keep it on my desk because it's made of sand and I like touching the little granules.

5) Harajuku Lover pencil case. Three dollas from a Shoppers Sale.
Old school metal pencil cases need to come back!

6) A chocolate Fortinos eclair that I bought the Boy yesterday as a treat. Om nom nom.

7) Origins Souffle Whipped body Cream, free because I spent too much money at an Origins counter (as always -_-). It does smell incredible but I don't use it too often for the fear that I'll like it too much and buy the entire set.

8) Tylenol nighttime/daytime cold & flu. I took these back when I thought I had a cold. I probably had more fun moving them around into different formations.

imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com imagebam.com

9) Origins Mega Mushroom Cleanser, my favorite at the moment. It smells really herby and is incredibly gentle and non-drying on my skin.

10) A polka dotted red travel bag that I got from Walmart 2 years back. It holds my Benefit / Urban Decay make-up palettes, my favorite brushes, hair ties, favorite lip products, etc etc. It's very durable, especially since I've crammed it in my Lug bag every time I go home for the weekend.

11) Origins Sensor Therapy (oh lord, I've never noticed how much Origins I had), it smells like bubble gum mint. I dab it under my jawline and on my temple when I get a headache. It's very soothing and is supposed to help you with stress. It could be placebo effect but I personally think that it works!

12) My literal piggy bank. I actually got this from China about 5 years ago. We were on an Island (yes, I can't remember the name so I'll call it Island) where they hand made ceramic things and painted them in front of you. I wanted a pink one so my parents bought it for me. It's always on my desk and is constantly filled with pennies since I always use up the good coins.
